Expert Witness

We have a dedicated team of Chartered Building Surveyors who have excellent building pathology skills in surveying defects in residential housing stock.

The Expert Witness Surveying Team is led by our Managing Director, Simon Scurfield, who has over 30 years of experience in Building Surveying and specialises in building pathology relating to dampness in residential buildings.

At Storm Tempest, we specialise in the Social Landlord Sector and have considerable knowledge and experience in the precise issue(s) that are required by our clients. We have provided our surveyors with specific tailored training on the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), to compliment our surveyors knowledge and understanding of hazards within residential properties.

Our surveyors acknowledge that they must be seen to be independent and unbiased and have a good understanding of the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Condition Claims and the Civil Procedures Rules. With every instruction we ensure that, from the outset, we understand objectives and tailor our service to meet each client’s requirements. We do not accept instructions from Claimant Solicitors.
